Enthusiasm deficit for Jerry Brown?

Remember the big Jerry Brown rally in Santa Rosa Wednesday?   The press said it was a kickoff rally when Brown finally began a serious push to win the election.  A report from the SF Chronicle claimed there was a community festival atmosphere of enthusiastic Democrats pumped up about their candidate.

One Brown staffer, Nick Velasquez, claimed there were 1,000 Democrats there.

Uh, I don't think so.

I just came across a KTVU video from the event and noticed something the media didn't mention -- empty seats.  Lots of empty seats.

Look at this screen grab from the video.

Doesn't look like 1,000 people to me.  Not anywhere close.  You can see the full KTVU video here.

Earlier in the week, Moonbeam held a fund-raiser and about 10 people attended.  It was in Jerry Brown's old apartment, but I'm thinking even his old bachelor's pad could hold more than ten people.

We'll see if this a trend.
