Photo of Jerry Brown standing near bounce house that he wants to regulate

Jerry Brown wandered around a picnic in Orange County today, reassuring nervous Dems that he is still campaigning for governor.   Above is a photo of Brown standing near a bounce house.  As Attorney General, Mr. Tough on Crime wants to regulate bounce houses.  Sounds like a joke, but it's not.
We understand that Jerry Brown wants to show how tough on crime he is as California's Attorney General and (ahem) candidate for Guv. But the latest release from Jer's AG's office is really stretching the definition of slow mid-August news day.

The headline: "Brown Takes Action to Make Children's Bounce Houses Safe."

We kid you not. And by the way, they're called "bouncy houses," according to our sources close to such matters.

Jerry "Nanny state" Brown sues bounce house makers

If Jerry Brown becomes governor, California would become an even bigger Nanny State than it already is.  Yesterday, Jerry Brown filed a lawsuit against several bounce house manufacturers, alleging unsafe levels of lead.

Brown's lawsuit will expose the manufacturers to expensive legal challenges.  The costs always get passed along to the consumer, which means families will have to pay more to rent a bounce house.  Some of the manufacturers may decide to get out of the business altogether and lay off workers.

While costs go up and workers get laif off, Jerry Brown will gloat that he is helping children.
